His father is sick
The doctor who had been coming to check on him told his son that his father is dying. The son always has respect and love for his dad. So naturally, the news made him very sad.
“Perhaps the doctor was exaggerating,” he thought. “Or maybe he is wrong.”
God only knows what is going to happen tomorrow, but the son was hopeful.

The son stayed by his father’s side, taking care of him and talking to him.
His dad seems to do well the last couple of days.
The son asked the doctor about his dad’s health, but he remained convinced that the father was dying.

The doctor told him that some people seem to recover a bit right before their death, but again everything is in the hand of God. Before he left, the doctor told the young man, “Just let him rest and spend quality time with him.”
The son spent the following days with his dad.

One morning his father called him. He faintly told him that he loves and appreciates him.
The sick father said, “Son, I left you a treasure. Look for it till you find it. Once you do, you will never be in need again.”
“Treasure?!” The son exclaimed. “But where? Give me a hint, dad.”
The dad smiled, “look for it. Earn it. Work for it. You will remember me then.”

His father passed away shortly after.
A few days passed after his father’s death, and the son decided to look for the treasure. He started with the house, looking in all the nooks and crannies, but there was no treasure to be found.

He started exploring the area around the house. He checked around the back, the farm, and fields as well. He searched all the places his father used to spend his days. Still, after weeks of searching, he had no luck.

One day he met his neighbor and close friend of his dad
He told the old man about what his dad told him to search for.
“The treasure,” The young man said, “Have you heard him saying anything about that treasure?!”

“No,” the old man said firmly. “But knowing your dad for a long time, I know exactly what he meant. He was talking about the land, the farm. So don’t look any further. Starting tomorrow, wake up early and work hard as your dad did. The land is the treasure. Take care of it and enjoy it.
Just like your dad did.”
