A moment before the fall, it was raining so heavily.
We were walking towards the class.
Then we started racing to escape the cold weather and the drops of rain.
It was pouring!

We were racing together, but Susan was a step ahead of me. We passed by the construction site, a ditch half full of rainwater in front of us.
Susan slowed down, almost stopping.
I noticed that she lost control.

I watched as if the scene was in slow motion.
Susan was falling. There was no way around it.
No doubt about it!

One foot in the air and the second on the edge of the ditch
The elegant, slim, and tall Susan was on her way to the ditch in high heels!
OMG!!
Imagine a lady looking at you with eyes full of fear and hope, with no words coming out of her mouth. A moment that felt like hours…

Susan was very close to being in the ditch, a matter of seconds, into a horrible mixture of rainwater and thick mud.
Such embarrassment!

In day-to-day life, Susan is not really considered a nice person.
Arrogant, and she thinks too highly of herself.
But at that moment, Susan was begging for help
Susan was falling…

Without thinking, I stretched my hand and held her arm.
I remembered that I touched her thick, fancy, and long wintery jacket
Susan regained her composure and continued her way towards class.

Her high heels were stained with mud.
I barely heard a faint “thank you” as the sound of her heels continued ahead of me.

Thank you for reading!
